Call for Papers

We will invite presentations, collective discussion and debate which engage with, challenge and provoke the principles and practice of Disability Studies - from both within or beyond the discipline. We particularly encourage submissions that privilege the voices of those who have been marginalised and on topics that have hitherto not been the focus of Disability Studies activity.

Paper presentation: an in person presentation allocated a 30 minute slot with the recommendation of a presentation of 20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions

Paper presentation: (remote): a 20 minute recorded presentation opportunity for Q&A on the conference app

Symposia: A 60 or 90 minute is a collection of connected papers. An abstract for the symposia should be submitted by the symposia organiser with contributors listed as co-presenters. Symposia contributors should submit their paper presentation abstracts separately, highlighting the symposium they are part of.

Panel: A discussion on a topic with a chair and panel members, including an opportunity for Q&A

Online discussion: a themed discussion hosted on the conference app – apply to convene the discussion

Poster presentation: An A1 poster displayed in the conference venue and showcased at the poster reception when presenters are available to answer questions and discuss their presentation

We are keen to welcome a variety of modes of presentation if you would like to discuss this further email cdsconference@leeds.ac.uk
